The linguistic professions are going through change and adjusting to the new era of AI. To prepare future professionals, FIT Europe, together with language industry players and with the support of the European Commission’s DG Translation, has developed a series of engaging guides and posters centred around our main character, Poppy.
Alongside her friends, family, teachers, and even her dog, Poppy’s journey showcases the versatility and global opportunities a career in languages has to offer.
The materials consist of three guides:
– one intended for teenagers contemplating studies / a career in translation/interpreting
– one intended for the parents of those teenagers to support their teenagers
– one intended for teachers to help them answer questions teenagers may have

The guides are in the form of questions and answers. Each guide contains essentially the same information but presented from different perspectives and written in different tones to make them more engaging for their intended audience.
